  An Obituary.

  Life started out like the lives of so many others.  People came to see what he was like, if he looked nice, behaved well, and was generally the way they expected and wanted him to be.  He grew quickly, and as he grew his popularity grew as well, until more than a million people knew his name.  He was still so young.  Life was exciting, and he was adored by his parents and fans alike.  He learned new things, catered to the whims of his fans, and brought them what new and exciting things they wanted to see.   But as with all good things, popularity wanes.  Unfortunately for him, his survival seemed to depend on his popularity.  Oh, he'd go on living, but he would never be the same.  Those who had deserted him remained to stark a reminder for him to ever be the same again.  Unless, unless they came back.  But would they ever? 
  Xanga was born only ten years ago.  It was a fad of the high schooler, the retired teacher, the college engineering student; it spanned continents, languagues, philosophies.  But all good things come to an end.  Xanga began ridiculous propaganda, introducing several spinoff sites such as "Lovelyish, Datingish, " etc, where a person could go to feed their need for gossip type stories.  Hordes of purpose seekers hungrily devoured these sites, encouraging them and forcing out the rare intelligent posts.  The people who once were such avid bloggers began to desert xanga, until there were only a few stragglers left... and so they remain. 
  Xanga is survived by his lesser heir, the wealthy but rather irritating Facebook.
